That’s why it’s called research. Understand what it’s failing is an integral and important part.

Ungoogled chromium can help you with those fucking sites.
Besides that, you need to block merchan and telemetry js with some browser addon or at dns level otherwise the js engine fails and becomes slowish. -
NextJS is a glorified Wordpress but with more restrictions since the “backend” can’t even read env vars, use fs modules, etc.
Wait until you try to cache image loaders resources with your CDN … -
Any WAF on border would help, but cloudflare shines with that panic button in fact haha

And remember, if you are cringe you can choose to install the psycopg2-BINARY /jk

How can be a person more frustrated with real life problems than code?
The question sounds a bit rhetorical, yes but this is the real price of being a senior: you get mad at the wrong stuff(real life). -
I really like IAM hehe. Projects like IamLive and cdk permission ”sets” are a good reference/glue that you can use to really “discover” the permissions.
IamLive is for wild folks.
CDK is for planing folks.
What is your taste? -
Oh damn it if you tried grinhorn , my wow shammy would be answered your call!

The past is gone. Let it die.

Interesting opinions here.
For me a backmerge + squash and merge worked wonderfully for almost a decade and it’s easy to teach.
Otherwise I agree that if you’re a folk that commit every line or create big PRs instead of breaking complex features into smaller PRs (maybe you need to follow weekly delivers or some other creepy and non continuous integration and deployment scenario) a rebase will make the history appealing. -
@webketje for me yes. Projects with a lot of dependencies and big neutron stars(node_modules) pulled my IntelliJ ideS down (I use pycharm, goland and clion ).
Most of the memory spent was with indexing and with eslint checks. -
@saucyatom interesting. Why not a git merge or git pull origin branchxxx.
Putting any experienced aside, what each really brings into the table in terms of advantages? I always liked backmerges, it’s always seemed simple for me. -
True! But a hint: rebase is cancer, go with backmerges, at least you have transparency on what you’re doing Bebe
Otherwise, IntelliJ becomes really resource hungry if you have that neutron star called node-modules in your project. It’s really insane. -
Smalltalk shines and demolishes. Sorry.

DevRant is the new tinder ay

It’s jira brodah; you’re lost already
Embrace your fate lol -
“Nothing is easy”.
If you are pasting the same code then you need a refactor, which is a different and interesting thing to do. -
Exactly @Grumm!
On the other side, if you estimate using a median or average between the devs you can get an ideia on how familiar a dev is with a tech or software component.
What you can’t do in my opinion is to set a hard “price”/estimation for someone’s work without even know what kind of task or job it is. -
Let me share a story then:
Some years ago I asked a “blacksmith” to make a simple yet useful gate for me.
At the time he said: of course, xxxx is my price to make a gate for ya.
I replied: wait, that’s too much for a simple gate!
And then he answered: do you know how to make a gate ?
And I said: no…
After that, he said: so… how can you set the price if you don’t know to do it? Do you even know much the materials cost?
Think on that. Same shit, different profession. -
Wicked!

I’ve been using terraform for ages now, so I don’t bother much.
But I never liked the interfaces. The EC2 lateral menu is the most populated visual space in the galaxy. -
5 days passed. Let’s see :eyes:
-
Idk a never got a valid module or config/yaml file from it for a bunch of technologies.
But for me, it shines when you ask questions like: what book can you suggest about a specific theme?
Or torrent links haha -
Awesome! How can I obtain a referral?

The real advantage of remote work.

Try a third and fourth companies, seek the one that is perfectly aligned with your objectives.

Nice to meet you nineteen! Do you like stranger things btw?
-
Ah, And being a master of a given technology or practice is not the end but a ticket to the grand master league (next level).

Dunning Krueger vs impostor syndrome
The real dance with the devil for IT folks.
Do you have any kind of daily notes (A bit of stoicism) about your actions on your job and how it impacts in your life? What makes you happy? What practices and knowledge is desired by the market?
For me, it clarified that I was suffering with impostor syndrome at the time but then I use this as a fuel for continuous learning lol
