1) read python tutorial on python.org
2) write web parsers, scripts interacting with api (take any: github, twitter, you name it); use packages from pip
3) learn django, build websites; learn flask, build a facebook bot
Then go to meetups, follow Pycon on Youtube, find your own path. -
Doesn't look like a thing anyone should be fired for.
-
The Java plugin has its problems too.
-
@maykdev to be fair, I consider it okay for a backend developer to be able to whip up a page using bootstrap or something of a kind if really needed.
-
I've spent quite a lot of time playing this game in public transport.
-
@sour after a commit you usually push to Heroku. So after amend you'll need to force push there.
-
@CoffeeAndHate Oh, what a misunderstanding. I mean I develop websites and other web-related stuff, not the js-instead-of-native things.
-
Reminds me of an old SO question about whether the guy made a fork bomb tattoo with a syntax error.

I like how people struggle to quit joking about quitting vim.
-
This is why you should write tests.

Sabotages previous relationship because they got in the way of becoming a developer. Don't regret it.

@OverCoder you have some valid points. I'd like to point out a couple of things:
1) Sometimes people don't even know they are making a mistake by doing something. Of course they won't look it up.
2) Sometimes people are searching on SO for a wrong thing. They want to accomplish A and think they can do it with B, but there's much simpler solution C. Sometimes it's on SO in the same thread, sometimes it's not. -
Welcome!

There aren't many (usable) mobile operating systems out there, so here we go.
-
@Kushtrim yeah, the joke about missing comma in C would be more realistic.
-
@bashlord I'd installed it immediately and had no problem with it.
But because of how graphical editors work, I still had to use my mouse for a lot of things, such as switching between editing and embedded terminal. -
@PonySlaystation I wrote there "git status" and noticed some files I needed to add. And then the habits came into play.
-
"Invalid syntax" :(
-
It's twice the size needed.

I like to use the vanilla Vim because all of my other tools (local server, git, ctags, prospector, grep) are also in my terminal. It's just easier to switch between them when that way.
But if you don't want to spend time learning other CLI tools that will help you do your job, you're better off with VS Code where the tools are included and easy to use. -
Just a terminal and a browser.
