@IntrusionCM It's OKAY! I have a wife, what could possibly go wrong?!
-
Spoilers, you can only pick 1, if you're REALLY lucky.
-
Nope. It's just this community is simply the best of the best, the worlds most elite sit-down-stand-up-desk-comedians. Masters of code & observability patterns of comedy. If the bar was lower we'd be overrun with those who give us our best material.

@Meetife Stick at it, you will build a good reputation and generate new business from it.
Ignore the trolls, if your taking work and delivering results you are already winning.
ROR might be in decline these days, but that also means those skills will be more valuable to someone somewhere so look for remote work. By all means learn new technologies, but don’t over-diversify. It’s important to be good at something, not just aware of it. That all takes time and sometimes focus is the best approach for increasing productivity.
Just be patient and work hard, soon your rates will improve. -
Don’t panic. They’re just adding gamification, for developers. You’ll get to debug and fix it to earn badges.
-
I’m happy for you, may they never tell you that you need to support IE11.

+1 for built in “Read Aloud” text to speech.
Also, Collections is a looooooong overdue innovation over standard bookmarks. It’s like Workspaces for my browser. -
I like comments, but experience has thought me to keep them terse.
It's important to favour readable code.
Comments don't refactor! -
We have similar rules at my place. Anyone wanting to retain ownership of stuff done outside of work had to get written permission. I only know of one guy that did, since he did some freelance work.
IMHO, it's ridiculous and mostly unenforceable.
Incidentally, I am leaving. 😃 -
Everytime someone mixes tabs with spaces a fairy dies. Please, think of the fairies.

Looks like Delphi is a plastic spork. That's priceless.
-
Never heard of it, but 5mins in and I think I'm going to like it. Thanks for the share.

Having just spent some time crashing (smashing even), into Ruby and Rails coming from an ASP.Net background I learned the following;
1. Stay ON the rails, follow the conventions.
2. Read the Rails docs, the right version too.
3. It's generally a waste of time looking on blogs or Stack Overflow, due to breaking changes in Rails versions.
4. Use the command line interface more, it's powerful!
Good luck! -

@amahlaka it's actually this one: http://nhs.uk/Tools/Pages/...
This covers anxiety and depression in one. -
@linuxer4fun lol yeah, I meant call sick by do it anyway... just read my post... my bad!
-
Same rules at my place... only mgmt actually believe it, dev just joke about it.
Obviously, if anyone leaves dev this is overridden as they inherit all blame. -
@linuxer4fun really appreciate the offer, but I'm so spent on 'talk'. I'm not a danger to myself, or anyone else. Just want some good damn sleep and a break from the constant tension. The Bradford factor is a divisive, evil piece of work that has prevented me calling in sick till I'm close to hospitalisation. I think I might just do it anyway.

@linuxer4fun asked GP 2 yrs ago for CBT. Denied. 2 month waiting list to 'talk' about it first.
