Im comfortable with React and JS in general but havnt worked in node or mongodb before. So looking at it as a learning project as well.

And by new techs I mean development technologies such as React, Hadoop, Node and not integration/deployment tools.

@davehuk i dont think a medium sized firm has the time to get in such a mess especially in my country where cases can take years to resolve :P

I tried react and it squished different areas of my brain. But in the end it was worth the effort. Steep learning curve but once you get the hang of it, you can build amazing apps and have so much control.

Only thing I felt needs improvement in react is API Integrations. It should be a lot simpler.

well the thing is... it is actually for a family business which is why I agreed to do it for free. But you guys are right. I never though about the liabilities I could face in the long run.

I was simply getting done with basic CRUD operations. adding inventory, deleting it, updating it etc. Also there already exists a POS at the shop and I had gone through its operations.

Sometimes it surprises you though. The other day i discovered it does not support composite unique key validation(two column entries when combined are uniqye). Thankfully there was a package which made that possible.
was not in the mood to write any custom validation rule for something this common.
