@N00bPancakes that may be true. But that situation happens so OFTEN I WANNA KILL my past me so I dont waste time on this garbage anymore. @hitko oof yeah that sounds tough I hope you can moved / will move on soon to a better project
-
@odusanya @cmarshall10450 Sorry for the Git history, I'm still learning with Git so you see stuff like empty commits and whatnot, it's a mess.
But I'm glad you like it! -
@cmarshall10450 Nah, my Netflix addicted self would have no chance to pull that off.
It is very simple, actually. It just tracks the time I spent somewhere and blocks it if it reaches the limit.
It is not very revolutionary, except I do it on DNS level, not on device level. -
@cmarshall10450 The 48hours were several weeks! In the beginning procrastination was still a problem but when the script got better at restricting me I got better at improving it.
But it wasn't working the past two days and I watched the entire season of Lucifer and now I have netflix addiction withdrawal ffs -
@RantSomeWhere every time I calculate some geometry by hand
-
You could use Ghindra. It's software released by NSA for reverse engineering. I'd be delighted to cooperate if you'd like!
-
Btw I realized "independent" as in your own. No other server will attempt to contact your shit if you block Xiaomi servers
-
Although it is true that literally all you need is the IP to control it, but assuming foreign devices can't get on your network, that shouldn't be a problem right?
-
Why tho, most disadvantages of IoT I heard are:
Low security, which you can get around by not letting the devices touch the outer internet.
Dependency on manufacturer, which is non existent here. -
Although disclaimer: I'm blocking only their DNS requests(plenty of), if they are sneaking some telemetry below that, I wouldn't know.

@monkeyboy
partly: /ˈpɑːtli/, to some extent; not completely -
Eh, it could have gotten corrupted or something. Except for the ridiculously cryptic error message, for which I hate every single employee in Microsoft, it's not that unreasonable.
-
"goddamnworkplz". Possibly "fuckthisshit" when the app is being exceptionally unreasonable.
-
If I may contribute with my piece of advice: get rid of the internet.
Not permanently, but definitely when you should be working / productive. I got one of the timer plug switches that switch the internet off at the times I want to be productive and it helped immensely. -
Terry A. Davis approves
-
@vocuzi I'm usually smart I swear :D
-
@vocuzi motherfu- I actually wondered if my internet wasn't working there for a sec
-
@minsomai sure, testers are always important, can you go on the Discord I sent earlier?
-
Feels buggy, sometimes doesn't open files correctly and I think it crashed on me a few times
-
Best part: the slowest part seems to be the rendering, that I didn't even touch :)))
-
@Linux could you elaborate?
-
@samsepiol no worries mate tell me when you're ready

Microsoft knows so much 'bout you they can now predict when you'll fix that shit 😁
-
I ain't no expert but this isn't how chess is played

@samsepiol
Hey, I uploaded the game on github: https://github.com/mawshica/..., could you go to the discord server https://discord.gg/eCD59ZD so I can properly introduce you to the code? -
@samsepiol That's great! No worries, you can be programming the in game computers which are almost entirely made of python, im gonna put the sources on git probably tomorrow, so you can take a look.
-
@RantSomeWhere Yeah, I'm getting used to it pretty fast, I like the fact that you can just "yay <anything>" instead of hunting PPAs online
-
I looked up covert action, properly, and yeah, it's pretty similar to what I am going for!
-
That sounds pretty cool, I'll implement some of your ideas!
The game is more than just a console, you have a actual physical map of the complex you are hacking into. The gameplay is like the Mission impossible movie or Hitman, but with more computers.
