This is why I love working on my Mac. Boss just purchases whatever one I want and the emails me saying “your new MacBook is in the goods in warehouse”. I’m the one to unseal the box, set it up how I please with my personal iCloud and only my fingerprint/password that’s only known to me. And I have full admin access to not only my own Mac, but I give my ssh key to our systems admin and I have full access to our entire infrastructure.
Perks of being trusted I guess. -
@synemeup they all laughed, one boss man said “niiceeeee”.. lol.
Quite embarrassing though. -
Udemy course by maximilian schwarzmüller is where I learnt. £9.99 for the course….
-
Angular is probably the “big one” to learn first. If you don’t know Vue or react I’d start with probably vue... I did it backwards and learnt angular first, once I’d learnt Vue and react after, I go back to my angular apps and am horrified in what I’ve done....
Just remember, granular components..... -
iPhone 12 Pro Max or go home 😂😂
-
@Wisecrack I prefer a proper whiskey. Irish/welsh single malt. Bourbon is a girls whiskey. 😂

Enjoy! I have a 4yr old daughter and Twin girls that were born yesterday! I work from home! I gave up my home office for a baby room so my wife agreed that I can get a garden cabin. Electrician coming next week to sort it out, but as a developer I need a place to work!
Doesn’t have to be huge. Mines 8ft square, big enough for a desk and some monitors! -
@themissingbrace these are identical twins so it’s not a family hereditary thing. Identical are where one egg splits and it’s just a freak of nature. There are no twins in my family anywhere :)
-
You are not prepared!
-
You can add CSS to safari and set a blank page background to be any colour. Like green or something :) or even a gradient!
-
💪🏼
-
@AleCx04 they’re also Identical twins...

Posture is everything. I’m a tall guy (6ft 2) and a “standard” desk is not tall enough for me. My custom desk is 850mm high, my chair has an extended gas strut in it. And the top of my monitors are about 1” above eye level.
I have suffered with Carpel/Cubital tunnel for years due to poor posture.
Anything that forces you to “look up” is bad for your health. Whilst you’re “young” it can be fine. But I’m in my 30’s and shit starts to hurt and ache after a while of sitting poorly.
Health > Desk Aesthetics -
@dUcKtYpEd thanks man. Love them Dell 4Ks
-
@AleCx04 I already have a daughter, and then 2 more on the way!
-
@Ubbe thanks!
-
I’ve built a few angular monorepos. Nrwl didn’t help one bit. Useless.
-
@Bubbles who?

@deadlyRants I run 6-7 electron apps simultaneously:)

To clear things up. Docker can be great.
But when I have a project at work (I’m in control of all UI/UX and building and deployment of all front end applications) and the team wanna use nginx containers for Angular applications. I want to use Firebase hosting as we’re already using the RTD and Storage of Firebase. It’s 3 mins work to get hosting setup.
They want to start using Ansible/Docker and this complex architecture for everything including the front end. (App we’re building is about 20 micro services and 1 front end)
I get using docker for the micro services, I completely do. But leave the front end stuff to me. -
ButterCMS....
It’s so fucking easy to use -
@werlious whilst nodeJS is good. PHP is by far dead and will single handily out perform nodeJS in terms of queries per second tenfold. (I write in both php and nodeJS) and php is so much easier to configure and use.
-
I eat PotNoodles
-
For php, 100% Laravel.
-
@torbuntu but imagine how shit static sites would be with reloading the entire page every time you say add something to a basket.
-
@RUSerious please do enlighten me.
-
@noogli because it turbo boosts to 5Ghz... doesn’t need commenting. Works perfectly fine
-
@kamen macOS multi screen “virtual desktop” is one of the most superior things about it. I literally have 7-8 Virtual Desktops per screen and triple screens....
-
@Lensflare it’s configured to be 1 or 2 buttons. But has 1-5 finger gesture controls. I couldn’t live without it.
