The thing that bothers me is that you never end up developing something you are happy with.
People who think of development as a creative work get dissatisfied with that sort of unhappiness eventually.
I mean, this is the one thing I am good at. It makes me 💰 but I never end up doing a satisfactory work. Not because I don't want to do it but because the culture expects things to be a pile of bandages.
On twitter, you'll find a lot of people in Software talking about burnout. I believe this is one of the major reasons. -
@athlon thats awesome! Hope all's good now.
-
@athlon did it recover ? Share the story.
-
@tekashi also in India, family ties don't work that way. They are complicated and messy and enjoyable and happening at the same time.
-
@tekashi i wish i could do the drag your gr part but she is into an amazing job herself. Don't wanna disturb that.
-
"actually i thought i am worth about 20% more but since I liked what your comp does, i am gonna stick to the current" :p
-
@Root this is an absolutely amazing piece of advice I have come across in a long time.
Thank you so much! -
@M1sf3t summed it up 👌
-
@Fast-Nop i make a point to rant about a website in public if clicking on a label doesnt focus the fucking input in the form.
Use it yourself before making people use it. -
@devTea blows my mind. I sometimes just ask people to do my job when they start shitting and then they become all defensive.
I mean if you don't know enough about something.. stop fucking demeaning it. -
Windows has a thing for that. Specially if you copy a lot of files and eject it without safely removing it
Don't do any writes on it. Just run a tool like Easeus Data recovery or similar. They are pretty good.
Apparently windows flushes any pending writes / committing files to disk when you do safely remove and without doing so, your files will be present in the disk but possibly not in the hdd index. -
Every day! Silly ones. More on the days I either had a fight with my partner or loved ones.
Sometimes i do wonder if the act of programming is just writing "known bugs". -
Still not enough to run slack and chrome together.
-
here's an idea. Fuck is a recursive acronym ;) :p
-
There's backdrop-filter. But it only works in Safari ATM and in chrome behind a feature flag.
-
Does this make me not a programmer? 😥
-
@RazorSh4rk exactly! Every day
-
@oscarascal it is a flash storage..so potentially nothing can happen with my neodymium magnets.
-
@nik123 been looking at the wallets shared by the attacker/s. They were making good money!
-
@jannispl thats an apple macbook. Did bootcamp so i can play games. :P
-
@tinybyte i don't think the mac has magnetic storage. The one that i use!?
-
@nik123 you got affected?
-
And right now, i just found out that it installed facebook and skype on a new installation of windows because it thought I needed it. NO! I FUCKING DON'T NEED A FACEBOOK APP AUTO INSTALLED.
-

I took pictures manually to create each frame for the gif. And then merged them together via a Gif Maker App. @HoloDreamer
-
@dfox @DeveloperACE has to be something with devrant post image uploader because i have the original gif and it seems fine.
