As a designer, also front-end and WP dev, i only using bootstrap for complex design layou variation. Something like if you have options to change footer widget column, or sidebar position, Or content column. And i only take the grid system. If its just simple responsive site with no variation layout, i prefer using percentage stuff and media query handcoded.

Well usually, i use bitbucket for large/group project. But this plugin is simple enough to develop by myself and it's only took me a week to finish it. so when i starting the project, i think i dont need git until its done, i want to put finish plugin at my first commit. Turn out, its a total mess. And yeah, i start it over but now easier since i still remember how to do it.

I prefer text align center for container and margin top for the child.

I told you that its really easy to achieve parent selector using JS. And i dont really like it. I just give you an example about a case where parent selector is needed.
