When you see the same phrase applied to software, it's actually not a claim of control over the software, but is a claim of control over you and your property, by people who own neither. 👎☹️

Also, I believe some common languages (YAML maybe?) don't understand tabs, so it's like why even bother.

There's actually a lot of native games available on Steam now, and PlayOnLinux (a nice Wine GUI for installing games) has always worked for my newer Windows games (I have more trouble getting my cherished Win95 games running 😟).

I find there's more than plenty to satisfy, as long as you're not too attached to any big name titles.

@Aedath I recommend Manjaro (or other flavor of Arch). I recently formatted my Windows drive after not using it for about two years.

On the one hand, I think it would be nice if recognition for programs like these could finally replace the arbitrary "required Bachelor's in CS" on every job posting. On the other hand, I doubt that any hiring managers who sincerely focus on signals before substance are ever going to see past "higher education".

I think anyone who would see the value in a private certification would be just as likely to hire you without a degree or certification of any kind, based on your portfolio/real aptitude for the job instead.

@BindView I think it's more about the certification. Being able to put on your resume, "Hey look, I'm not just saying I'm an Android developer; I also have Google to vouch for me."
