Oh wow.. This is why many people despise the presence of null reference. It's far too easy to make mistakes with 'em.
-
My method was to try build something rather than doing tutorials. Most of them would hardly reflect the things that you would encounter on a real-life scenario.
It does not have to be original.. It does not have to be the next Pokemon GO. A simple calculator would work. Just build something. By the end, you'll realise that you have learnt a lot of things not covered by the majority of tutorials available on the net. -
Upon seeing a UI state glitch: "Ah finally, there you are. Phew."

@siljamicke, thanks for those extra pack of feedback and suggestions! They have been included to my backlog. I will update you once they got into production! :D
God, I can't seem to thank you guys enough. I hope you realise how amazing you guys are, caring this much to a stranger in need.
Much love from the faraway islands of Indonesia. <3 -
@siljamicke, @heyheni, thanks guys.. You've really lighten my mood up. At this moment I've completed the bugfix. It's just a couple of test away from release – I want to make damn sure I don't mess up this time 'round.
About Taggr, yeah I made that years ago when I'm learning Android dev for the first time. One reason I haven't got back to it yet is because the new storage access API demands a rewrite on it. I might do it soon though.
God how I love this community. Thanks again guys. <3 -
@heyheni, mainly seeing those drops in users and that my analytic tool showing that there's basically 0 new installs for the last couple of days.. It was gaining some traction with at least 5 installs a day and now there's none. Five per day is not a lot by any means but to see it went from having a progress to none is hard. :(
It's a Q&A diary app, you're more than welcome to take a look: https://play.google.com/store/apps/... -
@skydeveloper, thanks for your suggestion.. I'm really devastated by the fact that I lost both users and the app's traction on Play Store.
-
This.. should be the theme of the next Conjuring.
-
Aaaw selamat dude! Indonesian as well here but I'm still waiting..
-
Trying to get my Camera2 API based app to work well on all devices.. It's been hell.
-
Looks like it won't even compile — where did you declare *day* and *month*? 😝
-
@Jumpshot44, thanks! Well, for now I have yet to understand what it takes to maintain such setup on a production scale. But if your intention is solely for fun or exploration then by all means give it a go. I've been in development for 5 months now and all I've ever felt so far is pure joy and relieve being free of all the Sqlite boilerplate.
-
@ridsatrio, *later. Damn SwiftKey not doing is job properly. :(
-
Except large you'll be occupied by yet another task. Never compromise code quality; most of the time, the first time you're in touch with a piece of code would also be your last for at least a couple of months.
-
Because the people who hate coding are the same with those who love it. It's just when they can't (yet) find a solution to a problem.
-
Because NULL isn't theoretically a value? Quite the opposite, it should make for an *absence* of it. That said, you should hunt down your former colleague.
-
No no, that's a *trained* extrovert developer. Others would just opt to walk away.
-
Not the keyboard we all deserve, but definitely the one we need.
-
Never a question for me. I always bring my laptop everywhere, *especially* on holidays. Just to get that lines of code while on the plane/car and a few more on the hotel's lobby. 😀
-
Ha, imagine working at my current office then. A good half of the whole code base is basically that.
-
Everyone needs a sense of job security after all.
-
So you're inside her while doing dishes? Holy concurrency, Batman!
-
@ridsatrio, and yes, I'm fun at parties.
-
It's actually a string array, containing two identical content of "hip".
-
@NoNameCode, I think Polymer switches would also look like those.. Can be wrong though.
-
@g-m-f, well, he *is* the root of all things so guitar must not be all that hard for him anyway.
-
@codeclod, that condition where neither getting back into the building nor staying outside could save you from getting fired.
-
@Jumpshot44, you can say that again. I feel like out of all programming problems I've had so far, a good 75% of 'em was solved when I went AFK..
-
Bruv, do u even ProGuard?
-
Not every Android devs work with Cardboard, Wear, and TV all at once.. Still cool though.
