You: I agree to terms of service
Also you: you should've told me -
I don't really give a shit tho, I don't care if it's anyone's last day or week, if they were friends then they'll be treated as friends, if not then they'll be treated as coworkers till the last minute, just because they're resigning doesn't mean that my behaviour towards them will change.
I would resign if I saw my coworker using that font. -
@theuser Thanks ^^

Depends if you want to do something when variable1 is just not 0 i.e after the second if

"Plain old coffee machine"
Plain old coffee machine would be this, which is what I make coffee in every morning -
@Frederick Not really looking to set up new rules, it's a common sense issue not a rule per se, you can also tick the "Not for me" reason, that's how broad the options are.
On to the next point that how is it not considered spam if the user incremented or decremented just posted what they did so now you have the same effect at least twice, now multiply it by a number of people that does the same thing and you got spam and not the meaty one
As for this rant, he/she might delete it anw, we're just discussing to see each others' point of view, I might change my mind or you might change yours -
Nescafé 3 in 1, pour some hot water and stir, while I prefer my coffee black, I can't last the day without any sugar
-
@Frederick I have been an admin on a somewhat major forum for almost 5 years now and while I agree that it's not the same behavior, I would add that it's not frowned upon to double post here for example, what I'm talking about is common sense and it would greatly improve the quality of the post while also improving any human being who takes 1 minute more of his time to think and give a beneficial contribution rather than agreeing, I'd argue that by increment-ing you're inherently agreeing anw why do it again and how is that not considered spam.
Also just because it's happening all the time doesn't mean we should turn a blind eye
Sorry for the long post, I finally opened devrant on my browser :D -
@Frederick I see you don't come from a forum background, which devrant leans more towards that than instant messaging where that would be okay to post "I agree/I don't agree".
Thing is that "I agree" doesn't require an explanation as much as its counterpart because it's basically agreeing the premise, disagreeing on the other hand requires some form of a justification -
@Frederick i kinda lost you, i'm saying that if someone wants to be negative, it's better if they explain their reasoning rather than "i don't like this" which helps no one. So yeah i consider it offensive and spam to post nonsense without arguments
-
@Frederick it's the rule in most forums imo, if you don't have anything of value to add, don't post at all
-
@theuser agreed, you want to be negative, either explain your reasoning or don't post at all

Consider a career change

Witty isn't inherantly wrong and there was nothing agressive in what I wrote.
Clinging onto an abusive relationship is unhealthy, that is all. -
- hates ranting
- joins devrant to complain
No matter how many times you say you're not something and go and do what this "something" does you ARE that something.
I also don't get people who go into so much detail to explain why they're leaving when it doesn't have an ounce of constructive critism.
Bye Felicia -
@C0D4
Cloudflare is ok for small short term stuff but I wouldn't trust them(anyone) with my nameservers.
Plus with free cloudflare you get their own ssl which is a big NO for me even if it's on full strict mode, my way I still get to use my own let's encrypt -
@M1sf3t
I just use it for a free dns A record poiting to my vps whenever i have a demo or something.
You can still use it for a free dynamic dns service or dns backup, didn't need their paid service thus far -
@M1sf3t
Check out afraid.org I've been using it for quite some time and i'm happy to have come by it, maybe it'll help someone browsing this rant -
So, willing to buy a domain but not put in the effort which you will find foolproof guides for, damn you can pay anyone here to do it for you :p
-
Oh shit, didn't see your comment there, @C0D4 :/

As the topic of this week is a "hack" then I suggest writing an iframe that fetches your site from google and put the parent on github, remove scrollbars and allowfullscreen and bla bla and you're done
-
If it's just a static website or one page then just save the webpage using your browser abd upload it to a repo on github and google how to make it a site.
If it's more than one page then you gotta scrape it off, give httrack a shot -
No need to wait for ".facebook." to realize that it's going to them anw since they own whatsapp

@calmyourtities
You keep switching between android and google, they still are seperate things even if google owns it, it's open source.
And releasing the kernel doesn't mean that you can compile your own modified version of ios (which is the topic here) it gives you a better understanding of the underlaying code which isn't that big of a deal considering it's darwin based -
Assuming the user is stupid will only make them stupider.
-
@calmyourtities
1) how can you make sure that the update made your phone more secure if it's closed source? [Insert meaningless update here]
2) iOS doesn't explain why the app needs such permission but any decent Android app would explain it in the app store -
sudo rm -Rfv --no-preserve-root /

I'm not too familiar with the inner workings but locally applied CDN could come to the rescue, recently discovered it btw and I don't see a reason not to use at least the basic main frameworks like bootstrap and the sort.
Ofc it's not implemented here but maybe the world is not ready yet for the full glory of .net -
Gave up on "feels premium"

First of all blizzard pulled the plug on some old game of theirs and the community kept it going until blizzard forced them to shut down even when it had nothing to do with blizzard anymore.
You say "unofficial servers" i say it's bullshit, the game is still theirs even if it's free, they're still maintaining it and when the time comes they will pull the plug as well, and the community you speak of aren't developers, they're gamers and whichever company is behind the game will kill it to make room for something new.
Discord has been successful for a good reason but they had server issues every other day, they didn't expect to get that big of an influx of users and why? Because it's free, because their users are kids, just like how fortnite got big.
You talk about IRC and other protocols, it is not as easy as two clicks to setup a server (your own space) back in the day.
People always went for centralised because they don't want to be in 100 places at once.
