without community osx would be nothing, the same can't be said about linux, because for start linux is originally about excahnge, community, this comming from a user who use OSX, Apple is not giving anything for developer, just think about SMB protocole that still not working, apple you are a big shit with a lot of money spent on advertising

@gtoff thanks for response, i hate when i read something that i don't understand.

@gtoff servers/build tasks ?

@clovisIrex for bleed edge packages, the way to go is arch, ubuntu not so much, the reason for that is arch it self and community, the arch community is more than great, for the begineer friendly part, i don't know, i can say that i didn't even test arch(or any distro of it) for a long time because of this saying, but after i had the courage to test it, i was really upset, begineer is really relative, i can use arch, install package and mod them (if they are not complicated) and i still consider my self as a newbie when it come to linux, just use a distro for arch; i think Manjaro is easy to install, for ubuntu, ubuntu gnome or xubuntu,

@BigMacca101 there is nearly no incompatible motherboard but there is one who are easier to use than other, for my hackintosh, that i use in production, i use a asus h81mk with an intel i5 4440 with an nvidia gt 710 to make update easier but you can go with integrated one, it may be diffucult first but one it work it bring satisfaction, in my job we have 2 hackintosh (i installed the 2) and at home an y510p running mac os, and it work pretty well
-
i find it way more complex than nano
-
ubuntu/arch flavor will do the work, for me Manjaro/ubuntu(xfce/gnome 3), the arch community is great, ubuntu is more beginner friendly,
-
about slack, i still believe that the price is very high
-
mine is a lenovo y510p runing on osx el capitain, and for work another hackintosh on asus motherboard and it's running stable, if you only using mysql for mac there is Sequel pro, i always like it more, and advice if i may, docker is great for dev, specially if you are confortable with CLI,
