@snaz @TheBeardedOne that's right, it can be awful. But if you have a Poduct Owner, who takes good care of the backlog and a Scrum Master, who strictly enforces the time boxes and so on, it can be a great experience and work really well.
-
I think Scrum is only a time killer, if it is not done properly.
-
If you have something to write about, write about it, if not, don't. Having a blog only for the sake of having a blog will be a very short lived adventure.

@Codex404 our company defines these levels as follows:
1: very basic knowledge (able to write a hello world without external resources)
2: at least completed an official training course
3: used it in at least one (client) project
4: used it in multiple (client) projects
5: expert, able to be a tutor in an advanced training course -
I'd love to get such a business card. I think it's really nice :)

@polaroidkidd by putting it in the charging station, which has a plug directly attached to it, without a cord ;)
-
@polaroidkidd when I buy a cordless drill I expect a drill with a battery and no cord instead of one with only a short cable. And the dictionary also says, that the suffix "- less" means "without"

Server-transparent might have been a better term for this kind of stuff
-
@CoffeeNcode I like the single tooth showing, when opening your avatar 😂
-
@Kage Yeah that seems to be a mayor design flaw!
-
I get these kind of merge requests all the time at work. It's hell...
-
There are videos on YouTube, which show that the Chrome Browser listens to stuff you are saying, which results in personalized ads... It's really spooky
-
My grandpa had a stroke this morning and he is unable to talk anymore... Life is now hell on earth for him :(
-
@erandria thank you, I will try to push through it.
-
@nanl thank you for the advise. I plan to see a therapist this week. I'm sorry to hear that... I wish you and your mother all the best and hope she gets well.
-
@Nanos thank you for the information. I will have a look at it and talk to the doctors about it. It looks really interesting.
-
@echonox thank you! And I'm sorry for your loss. I also wish you and your family strength for this hard time.
-
@Gaetano96 thank you for your kind words 💚
-
@electrineer sadly they are. I can get an extention, but there is a deadline. If I hand it in one day after it, it will be considered as failed.
-
@CoffeeNcode thank you, yes I will probably contact the psychologists at the uni. I may be able to get an extention, but my full time job starts at the beginning of april, so this won't help much.
-
@620hun oh no no it's fine! I'm thankful for your advise and it didn't seem to me, that you wanted to outbid me. It's a fucked up situation for you as well and I wish you strength and all the best. No one deserves this...
-
@620hun I'm sorry to hear that :/
I thought about this as well, but my full time job starts at the beginning of next month, so I really need to get it finished... -
@SukMikeHok most of the time you can't just upgrade your work PC. It's given to you by the company
-
I'm more the metal guy, but as this is pretty "hard" as well, I can kind of relate to that (the energy thing and so on). It makes me happy when people love music, as I make music myself. It brings people together :)
-
@asgs Haha I hope so, thank you :D
-
I've been using Firefox on my Linux box and Chrome on my windows box (don't ask me why) so I will probably switch to Firefox completely then...

ThinkPad t450s. Great machine with a solid build quality and excellent Linux support.
-
I love Go (Golang). It's nearly as fast a C/C++ and really easy and comfortable to use.

Actually our company hired a new COBOL dev (he is around 25 years old) for the clients who still have mainframes. I think that's pretty cool, that such a young guy becomes a COBOL dev these days :)
