That's a long ass file!

I use pyCharm for python! Students can get a free license. It's from Jetbrains, which also develops PHPStorm, no doubt the best IDE for php. PyCharm works nicely, too.

Which do you think is best one? Thinking about buying the pax 3

I should really stop using rm - rf...

Microsoft has some very good tools. And even windows could be considered a good product. Overall... not for developers though. Unless you're stuck developing for windows. Then, good luck

ML is definitely the next big thing y thing but waaay different from regular programming.

Also, don't take it all so seriously... Do you really need to go back to school or can you just invest some spare time in maintaining a hobby project in a different language? I'm learning python by doing, since the beginning of the month, and it's going alright!
-
Choosing a different language won't help you with finding new ideas. I think a lot of stuff people do in PHP + javascript, can also be done in a Microsoft oriented development environment (asp + typescript?). Language is important, but secondary. Primarily you need a good idea, enthusiasm and knowledge of the basic design patterns

That query will crash if there are semicolons in the filename. Or quotes. Better start using PDO

Not a freelancer myself. But I think it might be a good idea to bill in phases. Estimate how much time you'll need per phase. If the first phase is done, make the client pay before you start the next phase. This way, you won't ever find yourself in a situation where you delivered a whole project, then realize you got a shit client who won't pay. Also, you can revise your previous estimations because of course, after phase 1,the client will realize he wants a few things slightly differently than originally asked. It's a win win :)

I don't code C, so I wouldn't know why he chose this... But I for one wouldn't want "namespace std" written on my arm even if I got paid for it.
-
If there's only 1 unanswered Jquery related SO question from years ago, that's a sign that the thing you're trying to achieve is probably something that could be done in a different, better way. Did you try to explain the actual problem to your duck?
-
Did you try 'git status' via cli? And did you check your stashes?

When you can code an open-source side project drunkenly in 1 night and actually get stars, users and constructive issues on github

Price is rising way too fast. When it drops, and it will, it will drop hard. And my guess is soon. Wouldn't be surprised if it corrected to 6000 or lower.

Great job!

I think this project has potential https://iota.org

Personally, I'd try killing the children before killing the parent. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Whoa

I don't get it

I just went to a meetup about test driven development and I'm pretty sure the fear of the testers is legit (when using tdd)

Lol 😁 9/10 (minus one for Ubuntu)

Couldn't you like, nightly backup both the database and all the files. I'm sure it could be a 10gb backup, that gets sent to Amazon storage every day, but who cares right? Also, you can provide your own (or a third party) hosting as a service and include those costs in your invoice. Free hosting is unprofessional indeed, and I'm sure you don't want your clients to think you are unprofessional

I use Tower (for Mac). The company bought me a license. It's a dream.
