I just moved back to Europe from Asia, I had a Honda Magna 750 in Hong Kong. I’m in the market for a Honda Shadow now. But alas no pictures. What do you ride?

I picked up a Lenovo legion y520 for unity3d (specifically VR/AR applications) for around the same price as my MacBook Air which is my dev machine for everything but. It has a 1050i and plentiful ram, plus an i7. Does the job well but is very juicy on power.

@Unipheas I did that, still costs an arm and a leg and the native insect population invaded 😩
-
@securiter exactly! Heh.
-
@daintycode I thought that was just Linux in general? Haha ☺️
-
@Kuroge It was Hong Kong, i didn't care, I was maintaining some VPS's but gave her a grin and told her that I was hacking them, and soon all the coffee would be mine...I don't think she got the joke and she sort of awkwardly smiled and sauntered off...Then someone else came up and asked for the bill shortly after....:/

@notroot That’s kind of true, I lived there for 7 years. I lived on the outskirts of the city close to the Chinese border. That there’s, the sticks. English is not spoken there very much. So when it crops up I’m usually taken aghast. That said, it happened once in 7 years lol

Haha only once have I been asked this while using Linux terminals in public, I had four going at once and I was in a coffee shop. The lady who brought my coffee over asked, either you are hacking us or a developer? Which impressed me because it was Hong Kong and not their first language hehe

@karnivol well, fair play!
-
Get a hak5 rubber ducky and kill all the birds with one stone so to speak. 💪
-
That’s awesome! Congrats on the job!
-
@simulate its good fun! You can explore 3G and 4G bands as well so I’m told, worth the 15 Euro investment IMO.
-
@sabz and the army expands! Lol
-
hah! yes! i hate these guys and it seems there's an army of them. Buzzword-spewing machines! Mindless drones that provide nothing and irritate everyone.
-
Sounds like it's time to break out the RTL-SDR dongle and start observing the flight traffic overhead? :P

I started out exactly the same, I feel you, dude! ++ for your woes! I wish I could say it's all better now, it's a little better, but I still have those original clients, dragging me down the web dev path every now and then! Potentially worse actually, seeing as I don't focus on web dev now, I focus on other OOP technologies, and then I have to go and pretty much re-learn everything again and again...

Completely agree! Unity comes to mind!

It’s baffling that they can find and utilise developer tools yet fail to understand the simplest aspects of website or browsers in general. 🤯

I went for an Nespresso machine while living in Hong Kong, the coffee shops all consider Starbucks and their extortionate prices as the MacDonald’s of coffee and charge accordingly. The cheapest option was to drop a few hundred dollars on a machine and pump out coffees at home. A Home office helps I guess!
