A moment of silence please, for the same fucking, irritating word that every goddamn Joe, Jim and Jenny uses for describing how a site should look. What the hell is pop supposed to mean, you want an epilepsy warning I'll put some popping lights and nausea inducing Nyan cats across your screen. You want it to pop more, sure no problem...

There's a window over there, go fucking throw your PC out of it.

hah! yes! i hate these guys and it seems there's an army of them. Buzzword-spewing machines! Mindless drones that provide nothing and irritate everyone.

Yeah I can make it pop... There's a switch on the back of your pc, red, slide it to the 110 position...

I find a quick jab with my pen in their eyeball usually does the trick. It really does pop.

Build a robot with a gun. "Pop" a 9mm in their brain.

Our business people prefer the phrase "make it more sexy"...

Someone recently asked me a similar thing but used "synergetic", irritating.

Sorry but you've triggered me.

I used to work for a large media company which meant I used to have to deal with magazine editors... sorry I mean absolute cunts.

After several months I could take no more and flew to the city they operated in (big organisation, different departments in different cities) and explained that I would no longer accept the use of the words "pop", "gravitas", "slick" etc etc.

Anyway they explained that they used those words all the time to the magazine designers and they usually came back with something "correct".

I said... "usually they do, but not all the time?"

They said "yeah, usually"

I said "That's because when you tell someone it needs to POP more, they need to go away and GUESS what you mean. Which is why sometimes they guess right, and sometimes they guess wrong."

After that they pretty much stopped using those words. Not completely, but when they did use them myself and my team ignored the whole email.
