@jbrandona119 SO releases the raw data set at the end of the survey, so we could check
-
@kr9s8n1 yes :D
-
@Batburger No, Italian, but everybody fear Russian hackers :D

This was the previous setup: https://devrant.com/rants/1402562/...
-
@Haxk20 No, it's clean enough. :D

Thanks for your feedbacks guys, I really appreciate them (also the negative ones)!
@stackodev I'm sorry they fired you. I don't want my company fires Bob, he doesn't deserve that. I simply would like to have a maintainable codebase, without so bad vulnerabilities, since I'll probably be still involved in this project after he will retire.
@kgbemployee I'm not against vi, but I saw he working and, without syntax hilighting and code validation (things that you can set up in vi too), he wastes a lot of time on missing semicolons or not closed brackets. I don't think this is so cool.
@phorkyas Currently only 3 persons worked on this code and the other one agrees that it is a mess but thinks that I shouldn't have rewritten it. -
@Fast-Nop this would make sense, but unfortunately the boss thinks Bob is more skilled than me because he is 30 years older.
-
Yes it happened to me sometimes, usually when I spent all the day writing code. It seems that the brain can't stop anymore and it continues coding also in the dreams.
But to be honest my strangest dreaming experience happened the night before an Algebra exam. I basically dreamed a sequence of mathematical steps without any visual/auditory stimulus. I would call it an "abstract dream". I passed the exam (with a shitty grade :D) and it never happened to me again to dream in that way. I think mathematicians could have stranger dreams than programmers! -
@norman70688 Yeah, you are right. I can still work with these technologies. I was probably just a bit shocked by the message on the site, since I consulted it two days before thinking that it was "new stuff".
-
@norman70688 The last sentence on the post says "more than three years". You are right that Node is not "new", but I referred to the "MERN stack" as a single concept. In any case I found this depressing because I feel I'm not able to keep up with the new technologies. I was just trying to learn something "new", because I work mostly on backend (Java) and my JS experience is basically ES5 and I know I need to learn some new stuff to survive in this industry.
-
@norman70688 Old? Something that was born 3 years ago? I'm glad that my experience is mostly about the 16 years old Spring Framework and that it still resists better than all this JS stuff.

I made some programming video tutorials (not in English). Initially I wasn't sure that people would appreciate them, because I don't consider myself a great speaker. I tried just because a friend told me I was good at explaining things.
What really surprised me is how different are the comments about my voice: «Your voice is so relaxing, I love it», «You are talking too fast», «You are boring». LOL. Under the same video! I learned this things are too subjective. -
@vane Yeah, that sounds the right approach :D
-
@gitpush It seems he has already some years of experience. I think it's an ego problem.
A huge one :D -
@wateringdisease Haha ok :D
-
@wateringdisease Well, I paid it 10€ but I'm stingy. :D
-
@tuc0w Some people think that they are able to control you better if you are in a office. Again, morons :D

@irene
-
@irene Well, I think that if the line is very short it improves the readability.
Something very simple like this:
return myBoolean ? "Yes" : "No"
It's just a tool, you can use it in a good way or in a bad way. -
return condition ? value : something_else;

@Scratchy Thanks. Suggestions can vary based on subject you would like to photograph and your budget. You can have a look at amateur photos on https://www.astrobin.com for having an idea of which instrumentation is needed and which software people use.
Another amazing activity is making a video of the ISS when it transits over the Sun or the Moon. You can use this site for calculating the next transits: https://www.calsky.com/ -
@git-gud Clear skies are important but image processing can do miracles. I taken pictures from the garden of a small town and I usually had to remove an orange gradient from my photos to achieve nice results like this. Here it's how: http://astrosurf.com/buil/iris/...
-
@wowotek It is a sum of 19 shots, each one exposed for 15 seconds at 1600 ISO, made with a reflex and a 15cm newtonian telescope.

The command line :D

Being a developer is already my B plan.
I wanted to be an astrophysics. -

@irene Opened with Gimp, duplicated the layer, set opacity of the copy to 50%, moved the copy some pixels horizontally.
