@plusgut rumor has been, oh, we'll switch to git... eventually.
-
@ItsNotMyFault yeah, see my explanation. I probably should have thrown that in my first response.
-
I saw that and typed internet, thinking, if the code is that bad... anything is possible, code could float up to the internet someday.
-
This has to be fake. If true = true return false block gives it away as a lame attempt to show bad code.
At least that's my assessment of this. I could wrong, and this could actually be someone's real code, and exposed on the internet somewhere. :P -
Search for security conferences and try to attend one or two per year. They're well worth it, networking and a lot of knowledge exchange at those events.
-
I would recommend starting here:
https://www.cybrary.it
Completely free. -
@redstonetehnik I believe we'll finally move to git soon. One can hope...
-
I want a semicolon JS t-shirt too!
XL. :D
(Shameless attempt to get a free shirt heh) -
@Jop- all it takes is for one engineer to think it up, and the AI agents will collaborate in such manner. But, yeah, everything AI is created with the idea of replacing common things we do.
-
Farmer. I don't know if I could trust a robot to provide me with the right foods for me... it might be programmed to keep me from reaching 80% health, so the medical robots have something to do.
(Listening to "paranoid" by Garbage now) -
Code reviews must have been painful. "Who wants to review my code here?" The room clears out in .34 milliseconds. :P
-
I can we this becoming a nice fridge magnet. Just add the adhesive on the back and magnet.
Someday I'll get a 3D printer. -
Only if it's a legitimate rant. Otherwise, you have to put a $1 in the jar for each time you curse around here. :P
-
I'll give you a year... By then, you'll be on here ranting about how painful styling up pages can be. Even when using Foundation, Bootstrap, Material Design, etc. :D
-
@kophygiddie lol. Team drinking could be good too. Each team member has to take on a module for an app. All teams have to create the same app. My rules apply to each team member.
Damn, I feel like finding sponsors for this type of coding event. I want to make this happen. Lol -
The competition would be interesting if contestants have to gulp a can of beer for every 20 lines of code typed in. 😜
The person who writes a complete app, and it's functional, wins. Oh, and comments must be included. -
If I may ask, what's the app?
-
For the long term comment, um any framework is good for that. As long as you're willing to maintain it. My VueJS projects are long term, not one problem with them whatsoever. What I do like about Vue, is I can bring in an intern and he/she could pick it up quickly, due to the simplicity of the syntax/structure.
I have a lot of experience with Angular 1.x and 2.x. I know Angular 4 is about to come out, I'll be on a project for that as well. So I can compare Vue with these.
I don't have much experience with React, but to my understanding, React has the benefit of react native. I would argue any framework can do the same. Angular has Ionic and Onsen as two solid JS -> native solutions. Vue has Onsen, Weex, and Quasar Framework. I myself have successfully made my Vue app as a desktop application with Electron Shell, and within the next week or two will have the mobile side completed with Cordova (which almost all JS -> native frameworks are wrappers to). -
@calmyourtities hopefully there are one or two devs on here. I'm about to start a project for the hololens, and would like to gain some insight or what has/hasn't worked for others in the VR/AR world. It's all new to me - as far as programming goes.
-
@kpenc I think I stumbled on those after taking the one from udemy. Trying to recall, doesn't laracasts also have good forums as well?
-
@harambae I use Vue-router module. Works very well for the projects I've worked on.
I do highly recommend, for those wanting to learn more about Vue, to take the course on udemy - by the instructor Maximilian Schwarzmuller. No, I'm not getting a penny from this endorsement, just stating taking his course was very helpful in understanding everything about Vue.
For Flux pattern, there is Vuex. It's great, been using this ever since I learned about it and understood how flux works and reduces a lot of coding. -
I agree. It depends on your own preference (or teams preference).
My personal choice is VueJS+ES6/7. Just love the simplicity it offers. You can do VueJS+TypeScript - they do have an add-on module for that. -
With the right ide. Local history is a savior.
-
Making this my wallpaper. Thanks.
-
100% agree
-
My requirement would include: to write the code using Python, Java, Ruby, c++, php, cob ol, and bash all together. Yes, all of the mentioned languages are required my AI friend.
MS's AI might need to learn the languages. Sorry AI guy, those are the requirements given. And it better include good unit and integration testing! -
So... The first "rant" is putting up a pic of a cat pretending to be programming.
🤔
Heh, just teasing, enjoy the rants on here! Try to get the freebie stickers. 🙂 -
I want that security ninja sticker. Will try to find one online. :P
-
Jasmine comes to mind
-
Angular 1.x/2, migrating over to Vue.
