My biggest dev regret was that I've followed other people's dream.
I lost precious time into trying being the "good kid" for my family and support them in their time of need.
Now I'm considered old for a starter and getting a dev job becomes harder with each passing day.

Don't give up I am older and just got my first junior dev job.

It shouldn't take anyone more than 6 months to learn a language. (This is like maximum possible outcome). To become a skilled and experienced one, code and code and code more.

So unless you are over 70 with shaky hands and funny memory, you are never late to become a dev.

That is so true! When working full te and going to school full time I would try to at least do 'monkey see monkey do' coding when I just couldn't think. That would really help a more than just looking.
