Hi everybody! I would like to know if someone could tell me why I should install a converter between Javascript and EcmaScript if there is already support for ES? Is it for IE?

    I can't believe why people still care about IE these days. Just forbid your clients using fucking IE!!?

    ES6 is a new version of JavaScript which came out 2 years ago. In order to use it's features in older browsers, you need to transpile/convert it into ES5. For example with www.babeljs.io

    @localjoost
    That's now how you get clients and projects as a company.

    Not everyone keeps their browser upto date. Eg I didn't update my iPhone for a long time..

    @spacem Also, at larger companies with a “standard desktop install” users are not allowed to upgrade as they like due to internal politics :(

    The reason we still have to support IE9.

    @thoxx That sounds more sad than it should be

    Not sure. But shit workarounds use to always be because of IE.
