    We are also getting rid of faxes in some offices, and some places may let you sign instead of using your seal.

    @ars1 I can't tell if you're joking or being serious

    @netikras > "I can't tell if you're joking"

    For a while, we had a physical fax machine in our contact center so the Illinois State Police could send us license info because it was the most 'secure' way to do it. We have an e-fax line for our legacy suppliers (rarely used), but they refused to use that system because the digital documents would/could be easily copied.

    Fax machine wasn't in a secure location either. Just in a little room next to the breakroom, with lots of traffic.

    Is it me or do those floppies look too big? Is that just a small hand?

    @jestdotty fair enough. Was wondering if I was remembering wrong.

    Not the case, but 3.5 floppies weren't the only ones, there were also 5.25 😆

    @netikras i am serious. In my office my boss was talking about maybe getting rid of the fax service to cut down on pointless expenses. This was last month.

    @ars1 we still have a fax.

    @ars1 > pointless expenses

    I've never been anywhere close to a fax machine, not to mention see it ...faxing... or digging into how it works. What expenses does it cause...? Is it a service you subscribe to or...?

    I thought it just attaches to a phone line and that's it. You use your phone line anyway, so I didn't think fax causes additional expenses...

    @netikras > "didn't think fax causes additional expenses"

    Its often the expense of the additional/dedicated phone line, ink, paper and requiring someone to walk around the machine every so often to see if there was something in the tray.

    Don't know if they still do it, but Wal-Mart required 3rd party invoices (landscaping, snow removal, etc) be submitted via fax. My brother-in-law had to buy one of those multi-feature printer+fax machines just to get paid.
