Is that just impression or iPhone takes longer to get slowly (deals better with bigger apps in the long run) when compared to Android?

I'm considering going back to iOS world. Android seems to get slow after less than an year.

Have been running iphone since 3gs (only one allowed at work back then) and have to say that they don't get really slow until the very last upgrade of iOS they get. My wife still has my old 4s and it runs fine.

Android phones tend to be beefier in the raw power department but iOS is more optimized. For eg, the UI thread on iOS has the highest priority so things feel snappier. Also helps that the hardware and software are optimized for each other because it's the same people that make both. Bloatware can make android seem more sluggish.

@Elkstorm Exactly this. I had an iPhone 3GS for 2 years (from 2010 to 2012) and I just switched to another phone (Android) because it was really old and some apps started to be slow to start. My wife has an iPhone 5C and she doesn't complain about slowness and she uses Facebook and Instagram (plus Chrome) all the time.

@xroad Yep. Android are really better at battery and energy efficiency, but, when it comes to speed and that "multitasking feeling" I think iOS seems to be faster and don't give that feeling of being slow to switch from one app to another.
