vicary4787yThere are multiple occasions when my colleague did this and I ends up convincing the designer in using a similar font in GWF.

What font and what book?
Tbh biggest trouble nowadays is poorly produced fonts on a per-view licence.
I'd love to know what font has 200k worth of gunk in it though. -
Had the same thing on my last run... only difference is they then proceeded to dictate that the PayPal checkout must contain -said- font...

If you're a big company, 200k for a custom font for it's corporate identy is reasonable. Since it generates value (the brand) for the company. And it helps to differentiate itself from the competion.
And there is the production cost.... One designer works easyely up to one year drawing characters for Latin, cyrilic, hebrew, arabic, and all the special characters. And if you're a truely International company who's doing business in asia then you've got to pay a lot more for hangeul, hanzi, katakana and hiragana font systems.
Compare it on how much you earn in a year to $200000 and add the overhead costs of running a business plus a profit margin.
@Cyanide Google paid probably a lot more than $200k for Open Sans. 😄
Just discovered that we are loading 200k for a custom font on one of our platforms...
200k FOR A FUCKING FONT?!? FOR REAL??? ITS NOT EVEN FUCKING DIFFERENT ON SIGHT!
So I sarcastically asked why the fuck are we using it and my coworker said its because the designer designed (duh) the layout this way...
Look... Usually I'm a quiet person and I don't rant in real life but this time I could not restrain myself.
