    in exactly the same way we can:

    by taking some stimulus, mapping it to a internal state (that is, for the outside world, completely ineffable), and mapping that internal state to an external reaction which then other computational algorithsm (neurological or otherwise) map to an abstract description of said ineffable internal state.

    You do realize that It's just a language model and not an "AI"... It can't feel anything. It depends on the training data. If you trained it it on dolphin conversations it would swear it can swim and has a blowhole. What we perceive as inteligence is an emergent property of language itself, but It's not real.

    People at VOX are idiot normies that ate the stupid OpenAI Marketing. The question of "what if we are wrong" is retarded to pose on a literal function optimized for word prediction. Maybe we shouldnt have called AI mistakes "hallucinations"... That's just another word that made people anthropomorphize it more. I can't believe anyone reads this pseudoscientific garbage.
