also people can get schizophrenia if they lack vitamin b3, which is converted into NAD/NADH which then powers your cells. so maybe it's something like, your brain cells don't have enough energy so they compensate by upping the neurogenesis and then you start making connections like crazy and eventually get schizophrenia
