Demolishun34918201dDidn't someone get hard locked/stuck in vim on a mac laptop a while back? There was actually no way out.
-
DreEleven536201d@netikras yup.. didn’t think it would be this smooth of an experience but I’m happy to say I was wrong
-
Demolishun34918201d@DreEleven no, there was some weird full screen mode or something. Then there wasn't a key to get out something. It was years ago though. The irony is they were really stuck in vim and couldn't get out if they wanted to. They had to reboot.

DreEleven536201d@Demolishun ohhhh… I forgot vim works based of key bindings. ๐ that whole situation is so funny yet ironic
-
Demolishun34918201d@DreEleven I wish I could find the rant. It was interesting how they got stuck.

TrayKnots291201dWhatever you want I guess. It's a learning curve thing. I feel like everything but i3 is sluggish to control... But if you like it, that's great

Tounai1305201dI get that Mac is pretty good because it’s mostly Linux without the problems but gosh I struggle so much with the user experience… Plus, my work one is a laptop, so insanely slow.
-
DreEleven536201d@Tounai Yeah some parts of the interface took some getting use to. Coming from Fedora running GNOME I found some things better implemented there surprisingly. Interns of performance mine runs an M2, so it’s like butter most times.

Probabil211189dWhile i hate most apple things, i have to agree mac is good for dev work
EXCEPT whenever i put my headphones, they send the play signal, crapple music opens. I do not use it. Searched for a whole day how to disable, no success. Ended up writing the "fuckoff" script which grabs pidof music and kills it 10 times per second.
Seriously.
Fuck off.
I use Windows for work and I’ve always used Linux for my home set up. Got a Mac a few months ago…..yeah I see it now….
