Pokemon Go looks so mundane to me. What joy do people find in it? I'm genuinely curious.

    exploring with friends?

    I don't get it either.

For some it's nostalgia, for some it's collecting, for some it's a novelty, for some it provides a free activity to do with friends / loved ones. For many, it's a hype train that'll reach it's destination within a month.

Never underestimate the lengths someone will go to to relive their childhood.

Nostalgia costs me more money than I care to admit.

TBH, if Nintendo released all of their old Zelda/Pokemon/Mario games for mobile, I would buy all of them. At full price. And yet Nintendo seems to have all of their chips on hardware. Hopefully this Pokemon Go sends Nintendo a message that people care way more about their software than their hardware.

I see now why people are so excited. I too have nostalgic items that I'd get really psyched for its return in any form. Thanks for the insights.
