    But there's another language, just out of shot, flying like an eagle and dropping bright green turds all over King PHP and his comical throne.

    @donkulator that’s Common Lisp

    Aren’t they all built on C++ and C though?

    Then those languages wake up from their wet dreams and realize the harsh truth of the reality: They are just the clown rulers of the biggest circus in the world.

    @ars1 yes, that's why socket handling and file io works the same in all three languages. open("rb"), recv(). They just wrap C. I had much fun with all these languages tho. Now I'm building my own interpreter I understand why the languages work as they do

    @retoor that's only true for Unix

    In windows it's also open("wb") and recv

    @ars1 C++/C are like the one ring. They are in everything.

    @Demolishun wait, what?! Everything has the one ring in it?

    @Lensflare at least until they bootstrapped. PHP started out as wrapper for C code for web pages. People wouldn't use the C code so he made PHP.

    @Lensflare maybe bad analogy.

    You’re missing Visual Basic and aspx. That’s a fuckin huge one still. A cancer, like Wordpress
