I've probably suggested this before, but people who introduce arbitrary factors of 100 into calculations for no good reason should have their genitals removed with a wooden spoon.
And if they don't make it clear that they've introduced a factor of 100, then the removed genitals should be pyrotechnically reinserted into them.6 -
If someone still uses the word "surfing" in relation to the internet, what would you infer about them?9

Just sat through a demo of some clicky-draggy data visualisation stuff.
The guy showed us how you can write a custom script that takes a user input and pokes it into a sql command using string concatenation, so a very obvious injection vulnerability.
Ok, so it's only a demo. But you wouldn't do a demo with an example user called Captain Cock, so why do a demo with a screamingly obvious security hole?
Whole thing was basically pivot tables in a short skirt anyway.5 -
So I've been pondering for a while now: is async/await a load of bollocks, or am I just stupid?
I'm gradually coming to the conclusion that it's probably both.6 -
So in Chrome, "resume browsing" doesn't actually mean resume browsing, it means "take a shit in the top right corner of my screen and kick it about a bit".
Must be satisfying to create a feature and know that 10 million people open it by accident every day and swear at it.3 -
Microsoft, why the fucking fucking bastardising arse knobbing fuck would ANYONE want to open a directory on the LOCAL C DRIVE in the PISSING BROWSER?2
-
There really ought to be a special word to describe a non-technical user who keeps finding weird, edge case bugs that we can't reproduce.
Any ideas?11 -
People who introduce unnecessary powers of 10 into calculations in the name of making things easier to understand, should be strung up by their testicles.
Like (1+r/100)^t for compound interest. Or saying the value of something is 1.5, when you might mean 1.5 or 150 or 0.015 depending on the context.
Idiots.
And then other people have to write code that moves decimal points around, and inevitably gets it wrong, and the stupidity gets passed around like a dose of the clap.
Just write down the actual fucking number. You're making it more confusing, not less, and pouring yet another bucket of shite onto the dunghill of human stupidity.
Unnecessary power of 10 => rope + testicles + tree.7 -
Visual Studio, if you don't stop mangling the indenting in my .cshtml files, I'm going to put my Wellington boots on and kick you squarely in the minge.
Don't say I didn't warn you. -
The rank, brazen, hippo-buggering stupidity of whoever thought those "modern comments" in Word were a good idea.
-
I've mistyped "tests" as "testes" so many times now I'm beginning to think it doesn't really matter.
Investigate failing testes.
Added testes for xyz feature.
Everyone understands what I mean. It's all good.4 -
People who use ambiguous date formats should be left alone in an almost empty sewage tanker with a horny orangutan.3

Okta emailed me trying to sell their SSO gubbins.
I actually quite like the idea of being able to abstract away all the providers people might want to log in with, and making it someone else's job to check whether those providers are trustworthy.
But the email is copied to every permutation of my name/surname/initials etc @mydomain.com.
They had no legitimate way to obtain my email address for marketing purposes, so they just guessed it.
And I'm supposed to believe no corners will be cut and no bodges applied in making sure the user is who he claims to be?3 -
If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot, treading more lightly on a human face, forever.1
