Our customers are fucking incredible QA Engineers, holy fuck tits. Every single day, some fucking fuckface finds a way to break this garbage can legacy application that I've spent the last year combing over and patching as I find problems or are otherwise made aware of them.

Honestly, I have some QA background myself, but these types of issues would just absolutely never in a bajillion shitting farting years occur to me to do.

They are masters of breaking shit, I am so FUCKING IMPRESSED. Almost as impressed that this application hasn't been replaced after ten years of bullshit, and that the two massive fucking retards that preceded me didn't just do it the right way by accident or fucking kill themselves out of shame.

I had a guy in house that could break anything. He used the program in really weird ways and found flaws. He retired though. He was great at testing.

@MammaNeedHummus For sure. Doing this on the replacement stuff, but the existing codebase is over 250GB of spaghetti, and no way in fuck am I going to write tests for all of that shit.

I wonder if anyone ever goes to a company and goes "wow, the code is so amazing" when they inherit it 🤔

@jestdotty I had a contract at a healthcare company years ago that had the most well maintained PHP codebase I've ever seen. That was one time though, but they were really on their game at that company.

On the other hand, the application in question is unequivocally the worst code I've ever seen, including my own.

@nosoup4u sending some good vibes as I can relate with you from my previous experience with some nasty codebases

I worked on a codebase where one of the previous devs used ascii art to embed a picture of a radioactive city and had a long comment that said the code was radioactive and that you should turn back to avoid radiation burns.
