    @dfox bots are allowed?

    @JoshBent
    I hope so. I like this bot.

    <@JoshBent>
    It's only posting random quotes and not liking/pushing someone, so shouldn't be a problem.

    @Michelle @Skayo I just remember that @dfox iirc was against bot controlled user accounts, so I wanted to hear his opinion, since that would open us all to create all sort of bots, notifications whenever @linuxxx posts a blog, whenever @teganburns posts a video (especially because he wanted his videos to be cut by his AI, why cant it automate the posting of it too?) etc.

    @JoshBent I think what @Skayo said is the case. If it’s posting relevant content that people enjoy, not linking to outside content/promoting outside stuff (aka spammy), not posting at an obnoxious interval, and not interacting in a way that tries to abuse via voting, etc. then it’s fine. I think it’s the kind of thing that can be weighed on a per-use basis.

    The examples you gave are more centered around promoting the work of individuals through a bot which I think is something we’d want to avoid.

    @dfox Ah, I see, so bots are allowed to some certain degree, I'll give it some more thought then, could probably come up with something.

    @JoshBent yeah, I mean if it provides value, and doesn’t detract from the experience/come off as promotional, I don’t see why not.
