What's the smallest size start-up company you would work for? The American dream, of course, is to own your own company. If that option were off the table, would you work as a developer for a startup company that only had 3 other employees, including the CEO?

I would consider it. For a full time gig I would have to check their financing to be sure I get paid and would discuss my role and how much say will I get and the other three would have to be pleasant to work with. And off course their plan would have to make sense to me. And I would try to bring up stock options topic :-)

I would probably not today if I had other options unless I REALLY believed in their product.

Really small startups are very dependent on every one and often require lots of extra time and with children thats not always an option.

When they move out its another matter, then I might for the fun :)

BTDT. I’d recommend not. The general incompetence of Sales and Marketing REALLY gets amplified in smaller orgs.

I'm working in a very small startup, it used to be just me and the boss...
Currently 4 peeps including the ceo.

The thing is, it's backed by 2 investors that own a larger Corp so the financial side is fine.

I'd be weary if it was the same situation without the backing.
