what the last windows update did to me:

- BROKE the fucking SPEAKERS so i have NO SOUND even WITH HEADPHONES. the only pair that work is a bluetooth one that i used before

- RESET ALL OF MY BIOS SETTINGS. this includes intel haxm so now the FUCKING AVD WON'T WORK.

- BROKE my FINGERPRINT SENSOR, so now i cant use the side of my pinky to login.

FUCK YOU MICROSOFT.

Thank you for reminding me why I love open-source. These types of problems have been happening since windows started doing automatic updates... What, like 20+ years ago? IDK exactly. But apparently they haven't fixed it yet. My current workstation is set up to dual boot, but surprise, my very vanilla Windows 10 installation won't boot anymore. What did I do to break it? Updated it.... That's it. I only really kept it around for occasional Adobe app usage tho... So meh. At my last job I used to joke that one of the #1 threats to windows aside from virii and malware are Windows updates. The 'joke' became so prevalent that co-workers would page my office and just say 'Adam, my computer updated, can you come fix it'? :P

Those update problems got the worst on the newer Windows Vista and 7 machines (at that time). The XP machines after SP3 were rock solid and we had a few disconnected machines that were critical to production that we left XP on. It was the last solid OS M$ built IMHO. If they just overhauled the XP GUI and backport the security fixes I would actually use it in a few cases... C'est la vie.

That's why I use Ubuntu 😂

Why can't we just don't care about what others are using.
Of course this language or that OS has certain benefits over the other / you have certain priorities in using this or that...
But where does this "Everyone that uses XXX is a bad person and should die in hell" come from? The only thing that should bother you, is that you are happy with what you are using and that's it.

@datmaddin I'd say not every Windows USER is hellbound, but from the amount of rants around this very topic, every Windows INSTALL AND/OR BOX are gonna burn in fucking hell, given enough time to receive updates.

But, as you mentioned, if you WANT to deal with that, you do you. It's not my problem to deal with lol
