F*ck software updates..

So while working today, one of the IT support guy came and asked to update my windows machine due to some stupid company 'security policy' they were following .. That update took more than 3hrs.. The reason it took so long because I somehow managed to avoid any updates for 6-8 months.

But that is not the end of the story... Windows update was followed by a bios update, some softwares, and at this point I just gave up and went for a cup of coffee, and left my machine locked in a drawer still updating and it will stay in this condition until tomorrow.. We'll see if something breaks after updating.

F*ck why are there so many updates and why each of them requires a f*cking reboot...

Productivity today was less than the number of side projects I completed. 😪

Why the fuck does your company push the updates with SCCM for example?

@Linux I don't think its sccm. Windows updates were regular ones, bios update was from the laptop manufacturer, and software update were the security software definitions update. So I don't think any software was being pushed from company side. It was to check if your machine is secure with all updates.. Correct me if i am wrong.
Ps: I have no idea about sccm.

A company can use SCCM to manage updates on AD connected servers. So your machine will install updates when your company decide to.

@Linux Well maybe I guess they were blocked somehow.. A lot of updates were shown as failed to install earlier before this incident. And I didn't got enough time to sit and go through reboots and installation.

    Alright :)
Anyway, not your fault. But IT could do it better and update the machine AFTER office hours.
