    @BitPhinix
    because people here buy it. that is precisely why i will never buy anything from apple. Its not that they are bad products, they are just insultingly overpriced

    and their disgusting monopoly attitude too, they purposely make their products sneakingly incompatible with other platforms so that people are forced to buy their shit. that company is just terrible. and i am not trying to insult anyone but i can not understand how people can keep supporting corporations like that, i am assuming you are simply avoiding to admit to yourself that it was a mistake to spend those 2000$ (+1000$ required equipment) on a shiny macbook pro

    @zacg
    Yes they do

    @HalfBloodPrince Saturn and Mediamarkt are one big company ;)

    Here you can find substitutes for about 3€/5$*... and I would not be willing to pay any more than 5€ to be honest.

    They're just milking money. Cable is not under warranty and they purposely make them shitty, also if you use not original cable and charger your warranty for phone is voided. That should be forbidden by law.

    * Pic as a proof - 1zł = 4.1€/3.3$

    @blem14 oh I just realized you ment other type of cable... what a dummy...

    Was looking for USB c charger on NYC street a few weeks ago. Cuz my train was about to leave, I got in a nearby souvenir shop. And the guy robbed me for 35$. And although the cable looks like working, it barely charges, and almost damage my phone...

    Main time I could've bought a decent one 6 times cheaper in China... Fk capitalism.

    You don't need thunderbolt 3 if you just want charging. A regular usb-c will work and be a lot cheaper.

    @spongessuck hint: not all USB-C cables can handle the 60W+ a MacBook Pro charger will deliver

    @simulate we are talking about a cable with an USB-C plug on both ends. This is a standard item and it's available from many manufacturers.

    @Christian1998 holy satan
    İ didn't know that
  • 2
    I am not quite sure if that price is overpriced. I mean their cable is 8 times faster than a regular usb 3 cable.

    But in general, yes they are selling Fucking overpriced products.

    @lastNick
    yeah exactly and they are selling it for 45€

    I mean the first thing in the product discription is the company name and simply that already says what you are really paying for here. like wtf of a nazi-masterrace mentality is that, you are not buying a usb-cable, you are buying an APPLE usb cable. why do people still follow that? i get that these things look good and apple was good in the past but in the present its just... a perfect example for all of the things that are wrong in our economy

    I assume the people here who are dissing Apple as an evil corporation are using google and Microsoft products.

    And probably Facebook.

    Pot? Kettle?

    @IshYume yup, basic supply and demand.

    @SSDD Google isn't better, you're right, thats why I don't use their services, but what about Microsoft ?

    Type C to USB 2 is way cheaper than type C to USB 3. Some cables have circuit board built in, don't under estimate them
  • 0
    @sunfishcc It is a Type C - Type C cable. I bought one from amazon for 6€. It works like a charm.

    @BitPhinix Google said thunderbolt 3 can be used as type C but not all type C support thunderbolt 3. 👍

    Type C is just the connector. It can run different buses. USB 2, that’s the 1m cable you get from Apple for charging. You’ve also got USB 3 with charging. And then there’s Thunderbolt.
    Thunderbolt is fun, up to 40gbps up to 50cm, you can get 2m 40gbps cables but they have to be active.
    They can also charge.

    I have a 1m Active 100W thunderbolt 3 cable that does 40Gbps. I’m using it for my external GPU

    Just ordered a Thunderbolt 3 hub that comes with a 50cm 40GB/s cable and this alone will make approx. 1/6 of the price.
