What's the best CPU and RAM we can have for a personal computer? You guys seem with enough experience to share your knowledge. π¬ (Most cost efficient suggestions are the best)

Sorry for free-riding your rant @jhh2450

lxmcf195868y@Torbuntu well i wouldn't recommend anything other than a Ryzen CPU at the moment, I would recommend a 1700x if you have the money, the 1800x is a bit of a waste in my opinion and I would recommend 16 GB of ram. lxmcf195868y@Torbuntu well i wouldn't recommend anything other than a Ryzen CPU at the moment, I would recommend a 1700x if you have the money, the 1800x is a bit of a waste in my opinion and I would recommend 16 GB of ram.

The combo of great multithreaded performance and high ram should be great for development.

@CurseMeSlowly Nah you good. I was planning on extending my original question tomorrow lol

@irene Worry not. Mine is old as well. π
(I5-670 & 8GB of ram) Really want an upgrade. But you know how money works.

@lxmcf i would recommend a CPU from ryzen 1500x and upwards but if you don't have a graphics card go intel and buy a i5 and upwards. for RAM, minimum 8GB in most cases you won't need anything higher. but it all depends want you do on a computer to know what specs you need.
