What CPU do you have in your computers? How much ram?

i5 4690 and 16 GB of DDR3 ram, not bothering to upgrade the CPU, gonna wait til my next build and go Ryzen

@Torbuntu well i wouldn't recommend anything other than a Ryzen CPU at the moment, I would recommend a 1700x if you have the money, the 1800x is a bit of a waste in my opinion and I would recommend 16 GB of ram.

The combo of great multithreaded performance and high ram should be great for development.

@Torbuntu that's my plan, go for the 1700x, overclock it to match the 1800x and job done 👍

@lxmcf i would recommend a CPU from ryzen 1500x and upwards but if you don't have a graphics card go intel and buy a i5 and upwards. for RAM, minimum 8GB in most cases you won't need anything higher. but it all depends want you do on a computer to know what specs you need.

Intel core i7 2nd generation (i don't remember the whole number) and 12 GB of RAM (for vms).
But my next build, as everyone says, will be with ryzen.

Does anyonw knows if Ryzens are available for laptops?

Laptop is an i3 with 6gb ram ;o just barely enough

Ryzen 1700x @ 3.9Ghz, 32gb ddr4. I love it, fantastic performance and multitasking, plus just the aesthetics of 8c/16t....so satisfying

@jhh2450 well my system in default state (nothing but 4 terminals) needs 80MB of RAM. Buuuuut I can play supertux on 4 fullhd monitors without lags😏😏
