Does anyone use pascal and what for?
Is there a better editor than borlands delphi?
Is pascal worth using/learning?
Can anyone advise if R or python would be more useful?3 -
It was in highschool. The classes were boring, the teachers were dull. One day, I was making a silly application in Visual Basic. A guy I had been in class with all year saw me coding, after that he came up to me. He was excited he found someone who was a coder as well. We started talking about our experiences and the possibilities. We could fill hours of stupid highschool subjects with talk of code. We immediately became best friends, despite never really have spoken before.
We made some cool shit together.
He is still one of my best friends 7 years later, even though he stopped pursuing a programming carreer.1 -
Since my mom asks me for a new website every 6 months, and the fact that my dad and my girlfriend are developers as well..
They know exactly what I do!4 -
My boss: Can you write something to append the product names with their descriptions?
Sure. Sure you want that?
Yes. Asap please.
Okay, I'll finish it this today.
*Done
Finished it, want me to publish this to production?
Yeah.
(One week later)
Did you put those name changes online?
Yes, why.
Oh damn, your co-worker, D. Trump, has changed a lot of the names so they index better on Google. You should check those kind of things before changing it online.
Right..
Concerns a few thousand products. Long story hah
Tldr; updated many product names overriding many hours of manual labour.7 -
Been working from 8 am til 7:30 pm, no breaks. Programming is awesome, fun and feels good in my brain (addictive ^^). But man its good to be home and do nothing. ~ sweet ~2

I get asked about being able to hack stuff, like cracking wifi passwords. Mostly I just go along with them and make up some stuff about how you _could_ do it. And explain how it is done, throw in some "yeah its tough"s and words they wont understand. Yeah with a dictionary attack and a powerful CPU with many threads you can definitely do it! You should try it! I say. Convincing them they can. Ofcourse, download kain and abel and look for something like aircrackng on google.
They won't amount to much and probably won't even try it, but I have a laugh. Seeing the hope of hacking and cracking fade away as a child's ice cream melting on a hot summer day.

Today I chmodded -R 777 /
It started blurting out permission denieds on my /proc/ dir and i aborted after staring at it for a sec. It was hella scary, almost broke a server at work. But it still works and ll / only shows 6 green dirs. *Awkward laugh* 🙄1 -
When the client wants you to calculate the value of a car over time with terms of 3 months. But only sends you this sheet.
"Oh it has to be adjustable in every way"
*Starts researching formulas* I cry 😥5
