Here it is, my first actual rant:

Linux Mint 17.3 was better than Linux Mint 18.

    Good to know...
I was just considering making a new image and trying out 18.
17.3 works so darned well I wasn't in much of a hurry.

The masochist in me will try it anyway but maybe with not as much enthusiasm to ditch the old.

I'm using it fine, what don't you like about it?

What is wrong with Version 18?

Maybe it's just me guys, but i'm feeling that my 17.3 was faster booting and shuting down. That's my bigger rant. And I have experienced some weird little bugs that never happened to me in 17's.

UI has its sugary improvements. That's nice.

Booting is slower for me. And it messed up with my AMD gpu divers. Fixing right now...

Also, package manager doesn't bring PHP5.*. Just PHP7

When I do get around to trying, the biggest improvement I'm looking for is working Intel video drivers.

Biggest problem I have with my daily driver 17.3 is choosing between having multi-monitor support but abysmal graphics performance and horrible battery life in stock drivers or 10+ hour battery life and HD video playback without full speed CPU fans. Broadwell CPU/GPU support is not exactly the best in 14.04 variants.
