At last, after a year and a half working with legacy codebase, I got the greenlight from the seniors to refactor my team's app to modern front end technologies. You know, webpack, unit tests, component based architecture and shit.. I really love it!

My PM doesn't look as enthusiastic though...

Me: Can we take X days for refactoring?

PM: the software is working fine, no refactoring is needed.

After a few months

**we are building on a pile of crappy legacy code that is going to explode soon or later**

PM: “Why it takes so much to implement the feature X? We are too slow!”

Me: Do you remember the refactoring thing? :/
