Found a Junior Dev position for fresh graduates but requires 5+ years of Java programming. Hope I started Java when I was in high school.

companies looking for devs with 4 years of swift experience. send in your resume, and when HR calls, tell them your experience. forget them after the call.

See those ALL the time, I just dnt understand. Tbh, they may as well get rid of that position and just call everything senior level.

@RubyTuesday Huh? then how do you know when someone actually has 5 years of experience in Java???

@RubyTuesday I had a lot of talks with HR in several companies about this. HR has no idea how to understand experience from a resume list.

This means that HR filtering resumes is total crapshoot for two factors:

    1. HR gets a huge pile of resumes from HR placement head hunters. They have no idea how to filter.

    2. Faking experience in your resume will put on top of the pile.

Waste of time, and you actually miss the devs you want....
