So apple might finnaly offer a MacBook air revision that is under $1000 USD this year... Let's hope it's not too much in Australia and a MacBook air might not be so fucking pointless now!

I think Apple gets a lot of misunderstanding especially within the usage of companies. You can easily provide machines where you exactly know what you get out of the box. When something breaks it will simply be replaced. You could argue about the prices and certain design decisions but when it comes to providing machines simply to work on apple is pretty reliable. You could also argue that their staff isn't always as useful as you might expect them to be (especially with the lack of software developing knowledge).

I would never buy an apple computer or laptop for home usage tho...

Running iOS with a touch keyboard.

Chrome OS is actually less useable and more ass-backwards than MacOS. In my opinion, of course.

You can hack some of these machines to run Linux with sketchy results.

Or save up an extra hundred bucks and buy a real, useable, computer. @irene

@irene because I love MacOS and my PC won't install Mac properly -,-

@R5on11c oh I don't deny they are good at what they do and will provide what is needed, but in the mean time with no Mac mini revision on the horizon, a Macbook air is the next best choice of Mac on the "cheap"

I prefer Apple products in general, even though I know I can get better performance elsewhere.

    Some of it is design.
    Some of it is aesthetics.
    Some of it is integration.
    Some of it is ecosystem.

Recently started working under my own company, and looking to upgrade from my Alienware alpha; I’m really considering an iMac Pro for the display, all in one form factor, Mac OS (so I can get back into dev for iOS) and enough oomph to last a fair few years.

I’ll also add I’m a C# / .NET dev by trade, so I’m used to windows, even though it’s royally fucking me off as of late.

@irene dont worry I still prefer Linux over Mac and windows, just love the the design of apples hardware, still wouldn't touch and iPhone with a 10 metre stick...

Suppose I can always buy a surface pro, those are always good bang for buck ;-)

@intromatt I actually have a Chromebook but love the os so rather not mess with things

@irene haha, I was being sarcastic, surface are probably worse value than Mac's tbh

    I thought that was discontinued.

now that I think about it...I saw something on the news about a new Air?
