Open my Windows 10 laptop and the night light is still on from last night. It's 10am.

Go to night light settings and they're disabled.

Move on and keep working.

After an hour, had enough so google the problem. Looks like it's reasonably common and and there's a registry fix to enable the settings again.

Apply settings. Go to settings and they're all enabled!

However, they don't do anything anymore. Night light is still on.

TL;DR:
Problem Night light settings widgets are disabled.
Solution: Enable night light widgets, but don't make them change night light

Windows gets all kinds of crazy issues when you only put it into sleep mode for a long time without rebooting once.

Either way rebooting is always the first choice for a fix attempt, if it doesn't help start praying.

@deadlyRants omg, sleep mode on windows is so shitty... it once crashed my whole FL Studio project and cleared out the whole projectfile. Still can't get it back.

@Johnni I once only put it into sleep for over a month. In the end I couldn't select files on the desktop anymore, all folder and file icons in Explorer were completely broken and some programs just didn't start.

Yes, I do reboot my computer every couple of days, but sleep is a pretty useful function in allowing you to quickly resume. More fool me for relying on it I guess.
