    Define "soon"?

I tried googling the release date for this build, but it just gives me the announcement.
  • 3
@jhh2450 It's available with the insider preview build https://theverge.com/2018/3/...

    Ohhh please come soon...

However, notepad has tabs... It's called notepad++

Build 17618 is part of the RS5 branch.
    https://blogs.windows.com/windowsex...

The next release RS4 is 1803 and is currently late for release (YYMM) but went to Release Preview on 4/5 with build 17133.

As Win10 “should” follow six month release cycle so RS5 would be released as 1809 around September/October for users and December for enterprises.

@bkwilliams Better than never I guess

It would actually be pretty helpful..

I open Windows 10 only to play The Sims 4 or Gta V ... which is like once a month...
  • 1
I'll stick with clover till they add that
  • 1
Not because I will switch from Cmder, but explorer, hmm, that's neat :) Looking forward. Won't install the previews though, I've just hade too many problems with those...

File explorer and command prompt in the same window??? Nah thanks, I'll stick to Clover and VS Code :P
  • 3
Can I set them to spaces? 🙃

KDE 4 had that already which is a veeery long time ago. They never integradet in KDE Plasma (5). Maybe because it was more a toy than anything else and not worth the hassle with theme support for such a minor feature.

Most file explorers in linux had tabs for ages.

Also: Windows still hasn't wobbly windows. 😁

Had this feature for some time thanks to TidyTabs but uninstalled as it was nearly useless for me. Multidesktops is the only thing I'm using to organize my tabs

    @JMoodyFWD That much huh?

Doesn't matter for me. Windows can't update on my machine because it decided not to
  • 1
@Cyanide I had to condense it because of character limit sadly. 😂

I switched to Debian a couple weeks ago and with what I do in my spare time (more development!) I see no reason to really go back until my game engine needs testing on Windows again.

@aaxa that's a first, Windows always likes to update and break itself
  • 2
    Yay, another taskbar!
    NOT NEEDED.

@Milenchy I think you misunderstood. It does try to update itself, but fails miserably every time (BSOD), and I can't find anything in the event viewer

@vlatkozelka it's not a hate post, even though there's plenty of things I hate about Windows. That doesn't mean I don't wanna use it, for me there's nothing better than Windows simply because everything runs on it
