I occasionally wonder if my supervisors think I'm an idiot because I'm constantly implementing stuff the wrong way and asking if I am even on the right track to a solution.

I guess that's what internships are for but I hate being dependent entirely on other developers. I may not know the best way to do stuff but I do know how to do stuff :(

If it's an internship, they probably expect that from you. It's a learning experience for you to better yourself, and if they don't want to deal with you asking lots of questions, then they probably wouldn't hire an intern.

@jhh2450 I guess that's fair, but I'll be moving to a junior position before too long. I just wanna impress, and sometimes it seems like my best aint up to spec I suppose.

at a certain point it stops being asking, and it turns into discussing what the best solution actually is.
but you will never become smarter than EVERYONE else, because knowledge is domain specific. buuuut that also means eventually there will be someone with less experience in a specific domain than you!

@balte I think it has most to do with just not being familiar with end goals and and not having a good mental model of what is trying to be accomplished. The things I do / build work and achieve certain requirements, it's just often slightly different from what is actually required :0

And that probably just stems from being new and not having a good working knowledge of the project and allowances that are necessary.
