SO . . . my laptop just decided to no longer be a computer. And while I love boxes that have stickers on them and offer nothing else in terms of functionality, I should probably be able to code. And watch cat videos on YouTube. So . . . anyone ever bought a refurbished computer on Groupon?

just don't.. you gonna have a bad time.. you simply never know what's gonna be a problem and probably end up spending more on fixing than buying a new thing.

Here in Sweden we have companies that refurbish computers, they are very secure and good. I have one refurbished computer at my own, it looks like it never been used and I gave only 20% of new price.

depends on how you're coding, are you virtualizing everything? do you do all your work through SSH or remoting in through a VPN? Do you need shit tons of ram?
Personally I bought a chromebook referb for 80$ and shoved Linux on there and it's been working like a champ for what I do, so you should probably state your ground for what you need. (Newegg is always my first place to turn to)

I would buy a new laptop. Shop around. It is your livelihood.
