@12bitfloat I saw terrible fragments of 20 year-isch dutch military boys saying that they would accept their fate if the times come that they get killed in war. Those poor boys have no idea yet for what kind of stupid people you're doing it for. I was only for a short moment in my life into politics and oh, what a waste of time. What an incompetency. That those people have influence regarding dying is maybe the most absurd thing about life. I do understand the boys, I also once believed that they were sophisticated people knowing what is good. That's the only cool thing being past 30. You're still impressed by people, but you'll realize nobody is a complete hero. Everyone is just people.

@retoor That's very true, the 20s do slowly drain that optimism(? not sure if it's the right word) and you learn stuff outside of school with how things work rather than how they say it should work. Still, there are definitely people better than others, they just avoid becoming politicians

@BordedDev yh, somewhere in 20's reality hits hard. At least it did to me. For me it was really late 20's. I was too positive or maybe just always to busy to look around me / caring about certain stuff.

@retoor I think a big part of it as well is going away from the more "carefree" education lifestyle and going to work. Combine that with realising you can't be "everything you dreamed of being", seeing the cost of things... I could name more things, but I think you're right about being more positive when younger.

well what education said morals and behavior and attitudes would be is not how it was in the workforce...

school says great idealic things about the world and asks idealic things of you but in the real world such things are not even appreciated, much less mirrored back

also it's criminal that you're not taught what money is, how to do your taxes, how various government politicking and laws work, what inflation is, etc. like you'd think an institution run by the government would bother telling you about the government since that's their area of expertise... instead they told you how to invade the job force with non-competitive ideas and get slaughtered... probably why people are being ushered into capitalism bad and communism should be the right way. but education said idealic communism is how the world works and then you realize business is very different. set you up to fail on purpose!
