retoor64192dThat's where I lack experience. I've never been really micromanaged. I wonder what I would do. No idea. But I know it would demotivate me since I always kinda decide myself a lot. If that changes, I won't be able to work I guess. I had luck so far.

@retoor I'm mostly just ignoring it... He complained last week I'd completely ignored his input. He was right, I had.

Micromanaging doesn't bother me, I'm already wise enough and stupid enough to know better, but there are some juniors on the team I suspect he does the same with so need to have words...
I'd make a really good manager, I just don't want to be one... -

retoor64192dI lied, my parents actually micromanage me. How I react: asking them if their questions are rational to ask, if there is any reason for it. Still they keep doing it. I'm losing this war.

ask too many small questions, say too many details. otherwise you're literally being paid to hang out with someone and calm their neuroticism. if you think that's the best use of the money you're paying me sounds like a joke but not like I care. then I just hyperfocused on "awareness", like a mode where I report every little thing until the person just gets annoyed with me. I don't even care to piss them off, it's just what happens. I'm in my body and them having to learn every little thing I'm doing would be like drinking data from a straw, when I've got a giant amphitheatre of all my senses and prior experiences. it's just nonsensical a strategy
... I do get upset if someone tells me to do things and I know they won't work. I'll do them to show them they won't work but if they don't learn... it's like what's even the point
My manager decided to skip today's meeting because he micromanaged me enough last week.
Genuinely I don't know if that's growth...
