Code For Cash

Project Type
Project idea
Summary

Code For Cash

Description
A website where devs can join and get hired for small jobs, like implementing features, writing tests, code reviews etc. Like bug bounty hunting but for coders. Companies can hand out single tasks and specify an amount of time (or maybe the devs). The price is a fix rate/ hour per dev tier. You can enter different tiers with different qualifications. Mainly by user/companies upvoting your work. Or maybe some hiring process. Companies could balance the load from their dev teams to the outside in small chunks.

I havent seen workana or what ever but i do think it would be nicr for a more friendly streamlined platform for small odd coding jobs here and there

So... fiver for devs kind of thing? Or a project you want devs to help build you’ll pay for their contributions?

    This could go both ways.

The idea was that ppl could post tasks for their projects that developers could pick up and do.

if you have a slow sprint in scrum eg. you you post some tasks there

Oh that changes everything. Instead of big projects the platform focuses on small tasks. That's new. Count me in.

I'd like to contribute. Is there a repo or a communication channel that I can join?

Interesting idea! Just had a kind of simular idea but not for devs. Just in general. I am an iOS dev (Swift and ObjC). I am up for it if you need someone ;)

Like bug bounty, is it going to be bounty based?

@arjaycodes I was thinking more on hourly based payment. For example:

    We have 3 tiers:

    - junior
    - dev
    - senior

and each comes with different qualifications and hourly fee.

You start as junior but can level up by doing work and beeing recommended by employers.

You can also level up by sending your CV to 'our' staff that can out you in the right position/tier.

An employer can post a task with a certain amount of time given for the task.

Then the devs can apply and the employer can choise based on experience or cost.

Since everyone costs the same (depending on his tier etc) it will not become a low-biding site, but rather a matter of what talent you need.

@Zanidd I like the idea of prioritizing on skills and experience rather than bid price.
