And again...

Our ISP doesn’t say it blocks any port on our Business Fixed IP. Currently I’m trying to access port 25 for SMTP. Guess what? Indeed port blocked. Called them “The port is open”, I visit a port checked, the same thing “Port Closed”

Always the fucking same thing. Every fcking time. These are just criminals. Lastly I removed their router, that they mentions was the only working router in our house and our signal from the other router, not provided by them was much better. They blocked the hotspots because we removed the router then. Guess what? On their site is an option Enable Hotspot on your home router (this enables your access to hotspots). Just pressed it. Haaa they can’t acces my router to set that up and it works.

In our second home, we have another ISP, Proximus, first they did difficult to come and install everything. Because in the appartment the previous owners didn’t pay the bills. After a week or so someone came to install it. Because they cut the cables couldn’t do it myself. Ok it worked for some time. After 3-4 months by once I can’t access the camera there, strange. My uncle went there and there was no internet. Neither TV. But we never received any invoice. Because they didn’t send them. We contacted them, no response. My father sends them an email, with politic people in copy and by once they called to say they will turn it back and scrap the invoices that were not send. They said no technician needed to come, as it’s second home. Guess what, next day a message came “We will arrive in less than an hour”
My uncle went. They did nothing, only restart the modem.
There still was no internet after two days after they came. We called back, response was: “There wasn’t anyone.” Yeah right, we have proof of a technicial that passed (Local Video). By once the internet worked.
Now 4 months later, still didn’t receive any invoice, neither via post or email.

Fuck those criminals, called ISPs

    Looks like you are Dutch
    It'd recommend XS4ALL or KPN. Maybe even Ziggo even though they aren't delivering even close to the "up to x speed" they let me port forward everything I want on a consumer line. Only thing not working is mail because I technically have an dynamic ip. Despite it being the same for years on end. 😄

    @rootshell I’m in Belgium... Speeds are fine (by time) Should be around 500 Mbps. But that’s not always the case. Still thanks

    @Alice lol, sometimes changing is better. But if we want to change, there are no internet cables for other providers and we need to pay them 750€ to insert one in the street. That’s ridiculous. So we can’t change easily. It’s also business and that soeed can be usefull sometimes. Others here don’t offer that. Remember once we had both.

    My mobile ISP blocks port 25 because of spam being sent mainly using that.

    They keep those ports shut. You only opened port 80 and 443. They say it's for "security" but still bullshit. Proximus does the same

    @filthyranter Yeah here too for non-bizz and bizz with dynamic ip. But this is Business, the highest plan they offer. All port should be accessible.

    @sigfried This isn’t on Proximus, it’s on Telenet, business, highest plan and they mention that all ports are accessible

    @Alice wow! Awesome

    PS: Your site is awesome!! Congratz

    @sergeyBrin ah yes I just read with fixed IP everything should be open. You did portforward right?
  • 1
    @sigfried yep, internal it’s working, external not
  • 0
    @sergeyBrin call them, tell thrm that there shit is not working and that you are considering switching to Proximus. Only then are they fast.

    @sigfried Call them already weekly...

    They're not locked, or you should be able to toggle them. (Non-business Telenet user)

    @Alice German Internet and the general state of everything digital is a hilarious joke that gets ridiculed by satire peepz on a regular.

    My bet is that it’s gonna stay like that for min. 10 years. Then maybe every household will have a decent connection. Oh yeah my agency is in the “city centre” and we inkt have t-online business Deutschlan whatever with 15mbit down and 5mbit upstream. To upload a clients video’s we often go to Starbucks.

    @sigfried proximus is a joke aswell. They have an unlimited plan in where you have to book 100GB packages at a time. They are free but every month I have to sit down and book them one by one.

    We stream Netflix 4K and YouTube 4K a lot at home so we reach 1TB of traffic pretty easily. I asked support if they couldn’t just open it all up. They told me that it’s not possible and that 100GB packages are enough to stream Netflix - sending me a graph that shows that 4K streaming will exceed that quickly.

    @iKameo I moved from one point in Bergedorf to another. Old home should have gotten 100k, which we did in the morning at 4am. As soon as ppl were home we did get like 5 mbit/s. ISP threw one excuse after another.
    Thankfully we moved and have another ISP available at the new location. Still 100k, but at least always 100k.
    Then there are costumers in Hamburgs industrial area that can't even get 10 mbit/s down

    @Brosyl That’s always the case. Today I got a message I used 25GB mobile data since 8 am, now it is 8:51, this would mean I used a GB every 2 minutes. While the best thing is, I wasn’t using mobile data, was surfing over Wifi. And surfing doesn’t consume 25GB... They just want your money that’s it.
