Hazarth96947dI never had two Jobs exactly, but I had a full-time job and a side project to which I dedicated a couple of hours after work.
It was exhausting, not worth the extra money and it made it difficult to spend time with people I wanted to spend time with.
I eventually told the client Im done with the project (I wasnt the only dev there so it didn't hurt the project much probably) and it was the best decision ever. The money just wasnt worth it and I had more energy to focus on my main job, which ironically also made it easier to climb some ranks again and negotiate better pay anyway.
Depends on the person, but I for one am really not built to handle non-stop work and stress. Being able to relax and clear my head is way more important to me than any amount of money. I burn out fast if I don't get enough *me* time -
retoor74847dI just stopped working. Best decision ever.
Nah, seriously, time is the real value of course. When I had a family and just one full time job I was shocked how less time I had with them. Can't even imagine having two jobs. Based on that, I'm sure it's not worth it. Are you making a buffer for lesser times or smth? If it is just to afford some luxory, I would just change my preferences regarding that. I've learned to be perfectly happy not owning much at all. My furniture isn't even mine but part of the vacation residence I live in. I only own a few laptops and I'm happy as fuck. Especially since I have all the time I'm the world until money runs out someday. You could think it's a waste of money not to work for a long time but u got a self development in the mean time, there's even change that I'll see the money back thanks to that. -
@Hazarth @retoor well technically it *is* a side gig. I have also a freelancing company I'm hoping to phase-out to one day. I don't enjoy 9-5much, esp when freelancing has 2+x more financial return to offer. And more interesting projects.
So far I only have 1 client. I need at least 2 to have a resilient source of income. I want to keep that 1st client for now. So I have to do some hours for them. -

I setup a pay scale with a dude where depending if they asked for many hours the amount they had to pay me per hour went up
and I asked for this pay based on how much I valued my time
the guy accepted it but I ended up leaving cuz he was rude lol -
@Demolishun I had to watch this when I got back home from work. I forgot how racist this video is. lol

Keep at it. By the time you're 49, you can retire comfortably and enjoy the rest of your life for 13 minutes.

Depends. I'd say do this solely when you're very pressed for money && never do it long-term.
Had a few side projects && the extra money was nice, but the time invested wasn't exactly worth it.
Working 2 jobs is exhausting. In the evening head feels as if it were stuffed with sand. Like a punching bag.
Extra money is nice, but idk if it's worth that feeling...
